ActiveBrickworks Empire
The clay-to-brick production chain that supplies the signature building material of The Forgelands.
Brickworks Empire
The Brickworks Empire is the clay-to-brick production chain of The Forgelands and the reason the world looks the way it does. Savanna Villa is faced in its brick, the rail stations will be built from it, and nearly every public building in the planning ledger specifies it. The name began as a joke. Output figures have since made it accurate.
Operations
The chain runs in three stages. Dredging crews work the river shallows north of Savanna Villa, harvesting clay from the bends. The firing hall processes clay balls into brick through dedicated furnace banks, drawing fuel from the same supply lines as the Tortuga Foundry. Finished brick moves into the storage network, where the majority is currently earmarked for Grand Rail Line stations.
Land Management
Dredged shallows are not abandoned. Each worked river bend is converted into managed wetland — replanted, restocked, and left measurably better than mapping found it. The Brickworks holds the only extraction permit in The Forgelands that the Agrarians have publicly endorsed, and intends to keep it.
Current Status
Active and producing roughly four double chests of brick blocks per work session. Two full river bends are worked through; survey for a third dredging site is underway, with current consumption projections requiring it within the year.
Field Notes
Bricklaying in The Forgelands has rules, and the Brickworks enforces them at the source. Courses run level. Corners are quoined in stone. Any wall worth building is worth building twice as thick as it needs to be. These rules are not written down anywhere except here, and everywhere.
