Infrastructure Record
ActiveStorage Networks
The standardized storage and inventory system of The Forgelands, rolled out from the Savanna Villa reference implementation to every district.
Storage Networks
The storage network is the least photographed and most used infrastructure in The Forgelands. Every project draws from it, every harvest and smelt feeds it, and the civilization's actual wealth — measured honestly — is the contents of its chests and the system that makes those contents findable.
The Villa Standard
The reference implementation is the central storage hall at Savanna Villa, and its conventions are now the world standard. Goods are grouped by class — building materials, ores and metals, agricultural, tools and equipment, valuables, and the watch-listed — with fixed chest positions, item frames on every chest face, and a posted index at each hall entrance. The rule underneath all of it: a stack that cannot be found in thirty seconds is a stack the world does not own.
District Nodes
Each district maintains its own node built to the Villa standard. The Tortuga Foundry's storage levels occupy natural caves inside the Monolith. The homestead's node is Bronwyn MacGruder's domain, and is the only node whose ledger has never once disagreed with its chests, a fact the Archives report with admiration and mild suspicion. The Armory's vault wing, when racked, will be the standard's most disciplined expression.
Integration with the Rail Line
The network is designed for the railway it predates. Every district node sits within chest-cart distance of a surveyed station or spur, so that when track arrives, freight handling requires no rebuilding — only connection.
Field Notes
The watch-listed category currently contains three items and is stored apart from everything else, behind a door that is checked weekly. The index does not say what is in it. The Archives do.
