Brickworks Empire

Overview

The Brickworks Empire is the clay-to-brick production chain of The Forgelands, and the source of the warm terracotta-and-brick palette that defines the world's architecture. It began as a single kiln behind Savanna Villa and has grown into a multi-site operation spanning river dredging, drying yards, and a dedicated firing hall.

Purpose

Brick is the signature material of The Forgelands. Savanna Villa is faced in it, the rail stations will be built from it, and nearly every public building specifies it. Producing brick at that scale means harvesting clay at that scale. The Brickworks manages the entire chain: dredging the river shallows north of the Villa, processing clay balls into bricks at the firing hall, and stockpiling finished material in the storage network.

Current Status

Active and producing. The river dredge has worked through two full bends of the northern river, with the excavated shallows converted into managed wetland rather than left as scars. Current output stands at roughly four double chests of brick blocks per work session, most of it earmarked for the Grand Rail Line stations.

Field Notes

The name started as a joke and then became accurate. At current consumption projections, the Empire will need a third dredging site within the year.

Bricklaying has rules in this world. Courses run level, corners are quoined in stone, and any wall worth building is worth building twice as thick as it needs to be.
