Overview

Turn some of Minecraft Bedrock's rarest and normally unobtainable Survival blocks into hard-earned trophies. Andy's Silk Touch Relics lets you unlock, mine, preserve, relocate, and reuse Monster Spawners, Trial Spawners, Budding Amethyst, Trial Chamber Vaults, and Stronghold End Portal Frames.

This is not intended to make rare blocks cheap or effortless. Every feature starts locked behind a substantial Survival payment, requires the correct Silk Touch tool, and can be independently controlled by the world owner. The default prices are deliberately expensive so relocating a relic remains a late-game achievement instead of replacing normal exploration and progression.

The add-on is built for ordinary local worlds, multiplayer worlds, and Realms. It uses stable Minecraft Bedrock Script APIs and requires no Cheats, Beta APIs, experimental world toggles, or dedicated server.

Supported relics

Normal and Ominous Vaults10 Diamond BlocksDiamond or Netherite Silk Touch PickaxeCrouch + Mine/Attack
Stronghold End Portal Frames16 Netherite BlocksNetherite Silk Touch PickaxeCrouch + Mine/Attack

Monster Spawners and Trial Spawners are separate purchases. End Portal Frames specifically require a Netherite Silk Touch Pickaxe. Only Stronghold End Portal Frame blocks are supported — the add-on never collects active End Portal tiles, End Gateways, Bedrock, or the Bedrock return portal in the End.

Why the default costs are high

These blocks were never designed to be ordinary portable building materials in Survival. The cost system keeps their collection powerful without making exploration, Trial Chambers, Strongholds, or resource progression meaningless. Each price is paid once for the selected purchase scope; afterward that feature can be disabled and re-enabled for free through SilkyControl, and world owners can change every cost in the Behavior Pack settings.

Payments are taken only from exact Diamond Block, Iron Block, or Netherite Block items in the paying player's main inventory and hotbar — items inside Shulker Boxes, Bundles, or other containers are never counted or consumed. If the player cannot afford the payment, nothing is removed.

SilkyControl & first-time setup

Every player receives a signed Silky Guide book the first time they spawn after the add-on is activated, explaining prices, tools, controls, and the preservation system. All five relic features begin locked.

Open SilkyControl without Cheats in either of two ways:

  • Renamed control stick — rename a Stick to exactly SilkyControl in an anvil, hold it, and press Use/Place.
  • Chat command — run /andy_stms:silkycontrol (registered for ordinary players).

SilkyControl shows every feature as Locked, Enabled, Disabled, or Off in Pack Settings. Selecting a locked feature opens its payment screen; selecting an unlocked feature toggles it without charging again.

World-owner settings

From the world editor's Behavior Pack settings, the owner controls:

  • Purchase scope — Entire World (shared, the default) or Each Player Separately. World-wide and per-player ledgers are stored independently, so switching scope never erases either.
  • Per-relic toggles — independently allow or disallow each of the five relics. Turning one off prevents purchase/use but preserves an existing paid unlock for when it's re-enabled.
  • Price sliders — every relic cost is adjustable from 1 to 64 blocks. Spawner Diamond/Iron prices are alternatives, not combined recipes.

Mining, durability & preservation

Monster Spawners and Budding Amethyst use ordinary block mining; Trial Spawners, Vaults, and End Portal Frames require crouching while pressing Mine/Attack. Wood, Stone, Gold, Iron, and custom pickaxes never trigger relic harvesting, and Creative mode is excluded to prevent duplication. Diamond pickaxes take greater durability wear than Netherite, and extra durability attempts respect Unbreaking.

Relics keep their data when relocated: spawners use Bedrock's data-bearing items to retain their configured mob/behavior, while Vaults and End Portal Frames use persistent saved structures to restore reward configuration, keys, orientation, and Eye state. If Bedrock cannot create the preserved item first, the original block is left safely in place. Always test valuable world content after an update.

Achievement-friendly & compatible

Silk Touch Relics is designed to preserve vanilla achievement eligibility: no Cheats, no Beta APIs, no experimental toggles, stable Script APIs only, and no vanilla player/block/item/entity/recipe/loot-table overrides. Minecraft makes the final eligibility decision per world. The linked Resource Pack declares the stable PBR capability for Vibrant Visuals but replaces no vanilla textures, lighting, or color grading. It targets current Bedrock across Windows, Android, iOS/iPadOS, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, local multiplayer, and Realms.

Installation

  1. Download the latest release from CurseForge and open the .mcaddon with Minecraft.
  2. Wait for both packs to import, then create or edit a Survival world.
  3. Activate Andy's Silk Touch Relics under Behavior Packs and confirm the linked Andy's Silk Touch Relics Resources pack is active.
  4. Leave Cheats and all Experiments disabled, review the pack settings, and enter the world.

Consoles cannot import local .mcaddon files directly — import and activate on Windows or mobile, upload the world to a Realm, then join from the console. CurseForge is the authoritative source for supported versions and files.
