Andy's Copper Powered Rails

An early-game quality-of-life rebalance for Minecraft Bedrock: craft powered rails with copper instead of gold — same recipe shape, six-rail output, and vanilla behavior, without gold mining, Nether trips, or gold farms.

Overview

Powered rails are one of Minecraft's best tools for building useful railways, but their gold cost can make long routes expensive. Andy's Copper Powered Rails replaces the six gold ingots in the vanilla powered-rail recipe with six copper ingots.

It's an early-game quality-of-life rebalance for players who want to build powered railways without spending hours mining gold, making a Nether trip specifically for gold, or building a gold farm first. Copper is much more accessible during ordinary Overworld progression, so useful minecart lines become practical earlier — without changing how the rails perform.

That's the whole change. The recipe still has the same shape, uses one stick and one redstone dust, and makes six powered rails. The rails keep their normal appearance and vanilla behavior: this add-on changes the crafting ingredients, not the rail itself.

Recipe

Craft six powered rails at a crafting table:

Copper Ingot | (empty) | Copper Ingot
Copper Ingot | Stick | Copper Ingot
Copper Ingot | Redstone Dust | Copper Ingot
MaterialAmount
Copper Ingot6
Stick1
Redstone Dust1

Output: 6 Powered Rails

Features

  • Replaces gold ingots with copper ingots in the vanilla powered-rail recipe.
  • Preserves the familiar recipe shape and six-rail output.
  • Keeps vanilla powered-rail appearance, redstone behavior, and minecart performance unchanged.
  • Adds no custom items, blocks, textures, entities, scripts, or resource pack.
  • Requires no cheats, experimental toggles, or dependencies.
  • Small, focused behavior pack for survival railways, redstone systems, and large transportation projects.

Installation

  1. Download the latest release from CurseForge and open the .mcaddon with Minecraft Bedrock.
  2. Allow the Behavior Pack to import, then create or edit the world where you want copper-powered rails.
  3. Open Behavior Packs → My Packs and activate Andy's Copper Powered Rails [BP].
  4. Enter the world and craft powered rails with copper, a stick, and redstone dust.

No Resource Pack is included or needed. CurseForge is the authoritative source for supported versions and files.

Compatibility

  • Single-player and multiplayer worlds, plus Realms and compatible Bedrock servers.
  • No required dependencies, experiments, or cheats.

This pack intentionally overrides Minecraft's powered-rail recipe. If another behavior pack also changes that recipe, place the pack whose recipe you want to use higher in the world's Behavior Pack list.
