Expedition Log
ActiveDay 301 The grind for the Drowned Farm has officially begun. The Cobblestone Generator is roaring, and the sheer volume of material needed is daunting - mostly glass, stone bricks, and iron, all of which will take weeks. I've set up an initial goal to craft 10,000 blocks of glass. The Iron Farm is running perfectly, but even its output feels slow against the needs of this massive aquatic structure.
Day 308 A full week of grinding. I’ve started gathering wood from the nearby forest again, as I need thousands of logs for the massive amount of scaffolding required for the Drowned Farm structure. I…
Day 308 A full week of grinding. I’ve started gathering wood from the nearby forest again, as I need thousands of logs for the massive amount of scaffolding required for the Drowned Farm structure. I decided to make my mining effort useful: I’m deliberately gathering Cherry, Mangrove, and Dark Oak logs even though the farm won't use them. I need to stockpile these aesthetically rich woods for future projects and decorative needs.
Day 315 I decided to take a small break from the intense grinding. I set out on a major 11,000-block exploration of riverways to the east of the Savanna Villa. I took my chest boat, prioritizing a peaceful, scenic trip over intense resource gathering. I wanted to see what lay beyond the familiar swampy borders.
Day 317: Future Base Found! Not very far into the journey, I found the future mega-base location which will be inside of a giant mountain that has a naturally spawned cherry biome on top of it. This is located at coordinates 233, 129, 1453. The sheer size of the mountain and the unique aesthetic of the cherry trees make it the perfect long-term project. I noted its location and promised myself to keep this sacred area undisturbed for now.
Day 320 Continued my eastward expedition. I saw large groups of highland cattle and even spotted some furry pigs along the way - unique biome variants that would be excellent for the Zoo. The riverways are frustratingly random; I found a section that turned out to be a large loop, only realizing it after my second time around. I talked about how the fishing seems to be extra good around Mangrove Swamp Biomes and Spruce Forrest Biomes.
Day 322 I came across a series of large Dark Oak Forests today. I spent the day logging and returned home, bringing back several stacks of logs from cherry, mangrove, and dark oak forests. My chest boat was full. I also saw several Allays fluttering around a ruined portal; I’ll need to research how to safely capture and transport them for future builds.
Day 323 After returning, the resources for the Drowned Farm felt less critical than fixing the efficiency of my existing farms. The current Squid Farm is pathetic. I decided to rebuild it entirely as a Skyfarm. This requires almost 30 days of gathering resources for construction, primarily glass and smooth stone for the platforms and walls, and iron for the mechanism.
Day 353 Thirty days of concentrated effort paid off; I finished gathering all the specialized materials for the Sky Squid Farm. Today, I began the build. It is tough work due to the sheer height and amount of "over-nothing" work that had to be done. The vertical climb alone is tedious.
Day 367 The Sky Squid Farm is complete! It took about 14 days itself to build due to the height and careful segmentation of the spawn area. This version greatly improved rates, and a double chest of ink every few hours is now possible. The supply of ink and glow ink is now secure, far exceeding the old river farm's output.
Day 370 With the squid farm finished, I returned to the Drowned Farm resource grind. I have a major material deficit in glass and stone, which I need to address. The grind will be slow, but necessary, to finally secure a reliable supply of Tridents for good.
Day 400: The Drowned Farm Milestone I completed the resource gathering and the primary underwater structure for the Drowned Farm. It has taken me over 100 days of farming here and there to gather all the resources. The next major step will be installing the Redstone mechanisms and finalizing the kill chamber. The resource marathon is nearly over; the construction marathon is about to begin!
