Expedition Log
ActiveDay 203 Today was the day. I geared up, double-checked my inventory (Food, Water, Shield, spare Iron blocks), and stepped into the portal. The Nether location was decent - underground, but close to a few large, open chambers. I explored for several hours, finding quartz, gold, and a bunch of other resources. I need to be careful; without any slow-falling potions, the open chasms are terrifying. I did not locate a Nether Fortress yet, but I marked the location of a huge Basalt Delta that will be useful for future builds.

Day 206 The lure of automation is too strong, and I desperately need the resources from a Witch Farm. I dedicated the afternoon to searching for a Witch Hut in the large swamp biome I mapped to the northeast. I was completely unsuccessful. I spent four hours traversing the murky landscape, nearly sinking twice, and saw nothing but normal trees. It was a discouraging start.
Day 212 Still searching. It's becoming monotonous. The days blend into long stretches of paddling my boat down winding rivers and checking the horizon for that tell-tale structure. I've had to establish a couple of tiny, temporary shelters - just a bed and a furnace - to avoid losing progress. I'm wasting valuable daylight hours, but the materials from a Witch Farm are necessary for the Potion Lab.
Day 221 Nine days since the last entry, and the hunt continues. I've pushed the search several thousand blocks away now. I’ve noticed the rivers meander so randomly sometimes that it’s easy to get lost, or find a riverway that turns out to be a large loop, only realizing it after my second time around. I've had to use more food than I planned. I'm focusing the search around large mangrove swamps, hoping the abundance of water means the algorithm is more likely to spawn the hut.
Day 230 The grind is mentally exhausting. I've been exclusively focused on this hunt for over a month now. I spent two days tracking what I thought was the perfect swamp only to find it was a massive, empty mangrove forest. I realized that a proper Drowned Farm is going to be necessary soon, just to make future trident hunts less painful. That will require resources I don't have yet, so the Witch Hut remains the priority.
Day 240 Still searching. I ran into a small group of hostile mobs deep in a forest that required a lengthy fight. My iron leggings took a beating. The lack of progress is demoralizing, but I must remind myself that the reward - infinite Glowstone Dust, Redstone, and Glass Bottles - is worth this slog. I have covered thousands of blocks in my search.
Day 247 Another day, another empty swamp. I decided to pack up my temporary shelter and head home. I'm exhausted and need a break from the eternal search. Maybe a change of scenery will reset the RNG.
Day 248: Victory in the Swamps I decided to give it one last look in a completely new area - a massive swamp that was several thousand blocks south-east. Finally! On the 41st day of searching, I located a Witch Hut several thousand blocks away from the Savanna Villa. Now the real work begins: securing the area and, most critically, preparing for the Trident Killer. I need at least three Tridents.
Day 250 – Day 255: The Trident Crisis I spent five nights swimming in oceans and rivers, killing drowned zombies to locate the Tridents for the trident killer. It was brutal work; the constant threat of being struck and drowning, compounded by the slow drop rate. I secured two Tridents, which should be enough to start the kill mechanism. I will continue to hunt for one more.
Day 256: Fortress Found and String Solved During a final scouting trip for a third Trident, I located a Fortress in a Desert. Inside, I found a Cave Spider Spawner! Recognizing the opportunity, I immediately focused on building a dedicated Cave Spider Farm around the spawner. This fixed my string shortage forever, as it is able to fill 6 double chests with string in a single 8-hour AFK session. I was able to build the farm quickly by using my silk touch pick to relocate the spawner.
Day 263 After the cave spider farm was operational, I finally finished the Witch Farm. It was a challenging build, especially constructing the AFK platform 32 blocks above the witch spawn chamber. It’s able to fill 4 double chests in an overnight AFK session. The amount of glowstone dust and redstone pouring in is incredible; this farm will be the backbone of my future Potion Lab.
Day 277 The success of the Witch Farm and Cave Spider Farm has spurred me to complete the rest of the mob infrastructure. I spent the last few days designing and gathering materials for a general Mob Farm. This design will have 5 layers of spawn platforms and will utilize bamboo scaffolding to aid in spawn rates. I also spent a few days mining the clay deposits near the villa, hauling back several stacks of Clay Balls - the start of the Brickworks idea.
Day 285 The Mob Farm is complete. It was a bit disappointing in its overall efficiency compared to the specialized farms, but it still reliably fills 4 double chests in two overnight AFK sessions. The wealth of bones and rotten flesh is now secure.
Day 295 I decided to start gathering materials for the Drowned Farm. The process of hunting for Tridents for the Witch Farm earlier was a nightmare, and permanent supply is necessary for building materials and the occasional Trident. This project requires massive resources - mostly stone, glass, and iron - and I estimate it will take me over 100 days of farming here and there to gather all the necessary materials, given the size I have planned.
Day 300 I finished sorting the iron and redstone from the recent Mob Farm AFK sessions. The Mob Farm and Witch Farm are officially operational and feeding the system. I have begun running the Cobblestone Generator continuously to start the long grind for the Drowned Farm materials. This will be a resource marathon.
