ActiveWandering Trader Relay Network
How messages move between distant worlds — enderpearl cannon relays, allay couriers, and written books, used only when a notice is worth tens of thousands of TNT.
Overview
The Wandering Trader network maintains long-distance communication routes across vast distances and multiple worlds.
The Cubed Worlds Explorers Society has a strong relationship with this network, which allows messages and reports to move faster than ordinary travel would allow.
Message Method
Important messages are written in books and sent through a series of enderpearl cannon relays.
The system uses allay couriers for final delivery.
The cannon launches the allay across enormous distances. The allay then carries the written message the final stretch to the recipient.
Cost
This system is extremely expensive.
A single message can require tens of thousands of TNT loaded into the cannon mechanism.
Because of the cost, the network is used only for important notices, urgent discoveries, emergencies, and high-value communications.
The Allay's Price
The allay usually does not return home.
The distance is too great, and sending it back would be too expensive.
This gives every message a cost beyond TNT.
The Donaldson Notice
The message about Donaldson's disappearance was important enough to justify using the network.
That means the traders believed the situation was urgent.
